Safety, education, and transparency are at the core of everything we do. We take the time to explain each treatment, answer questions, and ensure you feel confident in your care.
We don't believe in one-size-fits-all care. Every client begins with a personalized assessment, allowing us to tailor services to your individual goals and needs. Our offerings may include IV hydration and vitamin therapy, peptide support, metabolic and recovery treatments, and other advanced wellness modalities—all delivered in a calm, comfortable, and professional setting.
Our clinic bridges the gap between traditional healthcare and preventative wellness. We focus not just on treating symptoms, but on optimizing how your body functions long-term.
Derek completed his BS in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training at the University of Charleston in 2002. He completed his MS in Sports Medicine/Performance Enhancement at Pennsylvania Western University (PennWest, formerly California University of Pennsylvania) in 2010. Derek has compiled 24 years of total experience in sports medicine, physical therapy and performance enhancement. After starting his career in sideline coverage and patient care in physical therapy offices, Derek started A-Game Performance Training in 2012 as a cash option physical therapy, fitness, and performance enhancement facility. A-Game originally was a unique and exciting endeavor which not only provided advanced fitness and performance programming but also sideline coverage for local high schools in Kanawha County. A-Game was the exclusive medical provider for the WVSSAC state competitions for over 10 years. He is skilled in advanced evaluation methods such as FMS (Functional Movement Screening) and treatment modalities such as the Graston technique.
Derek believes that this accumulation of specific skills will bring a unique perspective and effectiveness to the total wellness picture in the Kanawha Valley. He has recognized a growing need in the area to service those who are interested in and committed to methods of care and prevention to maintain health and longevity, rather than wait for disease or disorder to strike and then react. Insurance costs are rising and coverage is waning, and the future of vitality and longevity lies with preventative medicine, fitness, nutrition and proper recovery!
Derek is proud of his own weight loss accomplishments, having lost 165lbs on his own without surgery, crash dieting, or medical intervention. His methods on this journey are represented at A-Game Wellness as well as the drive and determinative spirit. Derek is an avid Steelers fan and enjoys his time with Christen, Ben and Adia. They enjoy camping trips, traveling, a variety of sports, and staying healthy!
